Do I need a PIN to make a purchase with my chip (EMV) credit card?

Category: Business   Service: Credit Cards | Updated: September 30th, 2015

Answer:

Your First Interstate Bank credit card is a Chip and Signature card, so in most instances, you should not need a PIN to make purchases with your card.  PIN will be required on your card when used at an ATM or at unattended terminals (such as public transportation kiosks, gas pumps) when traveling outside of the U.S..

PINs cannot be changed. You may request a confirmation letter of your PIN by calling the number on the back of your card.
