First Interstate Bank is a community banking organization, operating over 140 offices throughout Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming.
We're proud to be a business whose culture is driven by strong corporate values. First Interstate Bank strives to be the employer of choice for over 2,300 employees across six states.
When it comes to benefits, we also recognize our employees' varying needs. It is our philosophy and the design of our benefits program to provide employees and their families as much choice as possible. We are proud to offer competitive salaries and benefits that allow our employees to tailor their coverage to their personal needs through a cafeteria-style approach.
First Interstate offers a group health plan to all employees working 20 or more hours per week. Coverage is available 30 days following or coinciding an employee's start date. Employees have a choice between two plans, which vary by deductible and coinsurance amounts; the Consumer Plan, a high deductible option, and the Standard Plan. Both plan options include prescription drug coverage.
Employees have the choice of purchasing a full service dental plan through Delta Dental. The dental plan pays for up to two visits per plan year for diagnostic and preventive services in addition to an individual deductible with coinsurance payments on basic dental services, major restorative services, and orthodontia for children and adults.
Employees may purchase optional vision coverage insured through Vision Services Plan (VSP). Each year, the plan provides allowances for either contact lenses or glasses. The plan also pays for an eye exam every year following a $10 copay.
Flexible spending accounts allow eligible employees to pay for health care expenses and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. The set-aside amount is deducted from gross income before taxes are calculated, reducing taxable pay. Employees working 30 hours or more a week are eligible to submit childcare expenses for partial reimbursement from First Interstate Bank. The reimbursement benefit is based on number of children and employee income level.
Employees working 20 or more hours per week automatically have basic group life insurance coverage after 6 months of continuous employment.
Employees working 20 or more hours per week are automatically enrolled in the 401(k) savings plan on the first of the month following date of hire. Eligible employees select the percentage of salary to be withheld; the company matches the employee's first 4% of savings at 125%. Employees may also receive a discretionary profit sharing contribution annually based on company profits. Contributions and earnings are tax-deferred until withdrawn.
Employees can accrue up to 288 hours of PTO each year depending on years of service and status. PTO can be taken in any approved combination of hours. Employees can sell up to 40 hours of PTO back to the bank each year and roll up to two weeks of PTO into the next year.
