First Interstate was honored to be among the recipients of the American Bankers Association’s (ABA) 2023 Brand Slam Awards.
The ABA Brand Slam Awards honor elite bank marketing strategies that stand out among hundreds of entries from banks of all sizes nationwide. First Interstate was recognized for its public relations and community engagement efforts associated with First Interstate’s 2022 Volunteer Day.
To demonstrate its commitment to community, First Interstate Bank hosts an annual Volunteer Day the second Wednesday of September in which the bank closes its doors at noon and gives employees the remainder of the day to volunteer at a nonprofit of their choice. The campaign has mobilized First Interstate employees to support 550 projects at nearly 412 nonprofits throughout the 14-state footprint, donating 12,010 employee hours.
“Volunteer Day focusses and highlights the efforts of our wonderful employees, who give generously to the places where they live and work,” said Amberly Pahut, Executive Director of First Interstate BancSystem Foundation. "For every community, there's a different need. Whether it's helping build affordable housing units, serving meals, or packing backpacks at food distribution centers. We're here to support our neighbors."
The campaign garnered coverage from media outlets throughout the Bank’s expanded footprint, from its headquarters in Billings, Montana, to Lincoln, Nebraska, Trenton, Missouri, Marshalltown, Iowa, and Tucson, Arizona.
