When you’re from a place and truly believe in it, you can’t help but want to invest in it. Our latest investment? 40 grants for $25,000 each (totaling $1,000,000!) delivered to local nonprofits providing invaluable services within the communities we call home.

For every community, a different need. Whether it's helping to refill depleted food banks, removing trash from favorite beaches, or funding well-deserving local non profits, we're here to support our neighbors in the ways that work for them.

Our grant program is meant to acknowledge and reward the efforts of the invaluable nonprofits serving our neighborhoods. Today, we awarded St. Joseph's Indian School a $25,000 grant for their dedication to improving the quality of life for Lakota (Sioux) children and families. Since 1927, this organization has educated and provided housing for approximately 200 Lakota (Sioux) children each year. We believe in St. Joseph's Indian School because we #BelieveinLocal.
We are equally devoted to investing our attention and energy in the well-being of our communities! Yesterday, we awarded Wyoming Food for Thought a $25,000 #BelieveinLocal grant for creating local, sustainable solutions to hunger by empowering our neighbors and community, providing services and resources, and educating through programs and opportunities. Thank you, Wyoming Food for Thought, for helping us celebrate the power of community, the power of teamwork, and the power of service.
Being an active supporter of the communities we serve is part of who we are at First Interstate. Today, we awarded Feeding South Dakota a $25,000 #BelieveinLocal grant for providing hunger relief and fighting to eliminate hunger in this state. Each week, Feeding South Dakota assists in offering temporary food assistance to approximately 21,000 hungry individuals and families, as well as supplying food over the weekends to over 4,000 kids with their BackPack Program. Incredible!
We strive to be a positive force in our communities. Yesterday, we awarded the Washington Gorge Action Programs $25,000 for their commitment to helping individuals, families, and communities address basic needs. Each year, thousands of people turn to WAGAP for short-term assistance and long-term solutions to help them take control of their lives and their futures. Tomorrow, we are headed east! This morning, we awarded Newbo City Market in Cedar Rapids, IA a $25,000 grant for supporting entrepreneurship and small businesses in our community, being advocates of the farm-to-table movement and locally-sourced foods and products, as well as being a living example of resilience and sustainability. We work to keep our neighborhoods thriving. Yesterday, we awarded Mosaic in Osceola, IA a $25,000 grant for their encouragement to aging adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing services for more than 100 years. Amazing! We believe in Mosaic because we #BelieveinLocal.
A new month means new #BelieveinLocal grant awards! Yesterday, we traveled to Missoula, MT to award Watson Children's Center a $25,000 grant. Their mission is to provide safety, nurturing, and stability to children and families through quality services and trauma-informed care. Thank you, Watson Children's Center, for fostering the communities we call home.

Yesterday, we awarded Thrive - Transformation at Work a $25,000 #BelieveinLocal grant for helping individuals overcome barriers and work their way to independence and stability through employment. A new week means new Believe in Local grant awards - even at a new First Interstate location! Today, we traveled to Helena, MT to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new branch, as well as award a local organization, CASA of Lewis & Clark County, a $25,000 check for their dedication and services to their community. Their mission is to support and promote court-appointed advocacy so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and have the opportunity to thrive. This is why we love being a community bank. Yesterday, we awarded Call to Freedom a $25,000 check for their hard work in the Sioux Falls community. Call to Freedom provides supportive services for victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation by creating a strong network of frontline providers who offer safe housing, mental health counseling, and more.
