What do I need to open an account online?

Answer:

You will need the following to open an account online:

  • You must be 18 year old or older to start an application.
  • You must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • You will be asked for your U.S. Social Security number and valid form of government-issued identification including: Drivers license, state ID, military ID, tribal ID, or passport.
  • You will need to provide personal information, a current mailing address, and former mailing address(es) if you have not lived at your current address for a least two years.
  • You will also need a credit card, debit card, or U.S. checking or savings account to fund your new account(s).

If you are not a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Resident Alien and do not have this information, we will be unable to open an account online. Visit your local branch for assistance.

Accounts that are ineligible for online opening include:

  • Specialty accounts (trust, minor, rep payee, etc.)
  • Business accounts

To open a specialty account, visit your local branch.
