First Interstate Partners with American Red Cross to Support Wildfire Relief

First Interstate Bank and First Interstate BancSystem Foundation have announced a partnership that will help the American Red Cross provide wildfire relief across the West and Midwest.
First Interstate has partnered with the American Red Cross and the First Interstate BancSystem Foundation to support wildfire relief efforts across the West and Midwest. The initiative reflects our commitment to helping communities recover and rebuild during times of crisis.
“Here in the West, we take care of each other in times of crisis, and First Interstate’s commitment to those affected by wildfires proves that,” said Diane Wright, Executive Director of the Montana Red Cross. “The Red Cross workforce — 90 percent of whom are volunteers — has been diligently sheltering, feeding, and supporting wildfire evacuees and others affected by the many wildfires across the region. The support of corporate community partners like First Interstate is vital to fulfilling this mission.”
Since the disaster relief effort began in June, Red Cross disaster workers and partners have provided:
- 6,699 overnight stays for more than 1,476 residents
- 63,504 meals, snacks, and relief items for 1,571 households
- Support from more than 900 Red Cross disaster workers, including 79 trained in health, mental health, and spiritual care services
The Red Cross also works closely with tribal and local emergency service organizations, as well as other nonprofits, to coordinate disaster response.
“As a community bank, one of our core values is people first always, and we’re proud to support our neighbors during this wildfire season,” said Jocelyn Lane, First Interstate’s Rocky Mountain Regional President. “We’re fortunate to live in a place where people genuinely care about one another.”
Tom Severson, Missoula Market President, added, “We’re happy to partner with Red Cross by volunteering, helping with blood drives, and installing fire alarms in our neighbors’ homes. It’s a wonderful organization, and we feel a strong connection to the Red Cross and all the good it does.”
We invite our clients and communities to join us in supporting the American Red Cross’s wildfire relief efforts. Learn more or make a donation at redcross.org.
