First Interstate and the First Interstate BancSystem Foundation have begun a 100-day celebration to mark a major milestone: $100 million in total giving since the Foundation’s inception in 1990.

Celebration Begins on National Philanthropy Day

The countdown started November 15, aligning with National Philanthropy Day. Over the next 100 days, First Interstate will share stories of community impact, spotlight nonprofit partners, and highlight ways employees and clients can engage in local giving. Updates will appear on the campaign page at firstinterstate.com/100million and across social media.

“This milestone is more than a number,” said Amberly Pahut, Director of Community Responsibility and the Foundation. “It represents thousands of partnerships, tens of thousands of volunteer hours, and a shared belief that we can build stronger communities together.”

The celebration will culminate in February 2026 with an event honoring the achievement and looking ahead to future investments in community well-being.

Commitment to Community

Since 1990, First Interstate and its Foundation have supported causes that strengthen local communities — from financial literacy and youth development to disaster relief and nonprofit capacity building. Signature programs include:

  • Employee Gift & Volunteer Matching: More than $13 million contributed to local nonprofits.
  • Mini Bank Program: Financial literacy education for thousands of students.
  • Neighbors Feeding Neighbors: $2.7 million dedicated to fighting food insecurity over 15 years.
  • Volunteer Day: In 2025, employees assisted 331 nonprofits, eight schools, and 36 community organizations.
  • Believe in Local: $4 million invested in local nonprofits since 2022.
  • Volunteerism: Employees logged 51,382 volunteer hours in 2024 and more than 43,841 hours so far this year.

“Without strong communities, you can’t have a strong bank,” said Jim Reuter, First Interstate President and CEO and Foundation Chair. “This milestone reflects our commitment to ensuring our clients and communities thrive.”
