Honorable Mention Highlights First Interstate’s Culture of Volunteerism

First Interstate has been recognized by the American Bankers Association (ABA) Foundation for its commitment to employee-led service, earning an honorable mention in the 2025 Community Commitment Awards.
In 2024, our employees volunteered more than 51,000 hours across our footprint — supporting local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations. A key part of this effort is Volunteer Day, held annually on the second Wednesday of September. The initiative encourages employees to step away from their desks and into their communities.
“Volunteerism is a cornerstone of our culture,” said Amberly Pahut, Director of Community Responsibility at First Interstate. “We’re proud of our employees’ dedication to giving back and grateful to be recognized by the ABA Foundation for the impact they make in their communities.”
The ABA Foundation’s Community Commitment Awards celebrate banks that go beyond banking to support their communities and help grow local economies. Honorees are selected in seven categories: Affordable Housing, Community and Economic Development, Financial Education, Economic Inclusion, Protecting Older Americans, Supporting Military Families, and Volunteerism.
A panel of independent experts reviewed nominations from banks nationwide, evaluating each submission for creativity, thoughtfulness, and measurable success. Honorees will be recognized at the ABA’s Annual Convention in Charlotte, N.C., taking place Oct. 19 – 21, 2025.
