New Bank of America Text Message Scam
December 23, 2013
First Interstate Bank has received multiple reports of a new text message phishing scam. The message claims to be a Bank of America notification with instructions to call a phone number provided in the text message.
The text appears as follows:
(BankOfAmerica-Notification) Call: x-xxx-xxx-xxxx
The phone number provided in the text appears to be coming from multiple sources, as not every message contains the same number. This scam is not targeting First Interstate Bank customers exclusively. However, if you should receive a similar message, simply ignore the number and delete the text message.
Please do not give out personal/account information over the phone. First Interstate Bank would never contact customers over text message. If you have any questions or concerns about this or any other text message scams, please contact your local First Interstate Bank branch or our Corporate Security office at 406-237-2702.
