New Phone Scam Regarding MasterCard
December 06, 2013
We have been notified of a new phone scam targeting MasterCard users. The automated message reports that a customer’s MasterCard has been shut down and asks them to enter their card number and expiration date. The call appears to be coming from 817-916-54 (which is not a complete phone number), listed to exist in Roanoke, Texas. This scam appears to be a blanket attempt to scam MasterCard users from various financial institutions, and is not solely targeted at First Interstate Bank customers.
Please do not disclose your card number or provide any personal/account information over the phone. First Interstate Bank would never contact customers over text message to ask for such information. If you have any questions about this or any other text message scams, please contact your local First Interstate Bank branch or our Corporate Security office at 406-237-2702.
