3M ACH Debit Phishing Scam

July 18, 2013

A phishing email is circulating with the subject line ”3M ACH Debit Confirmation.“ The email appears to be an ACH transaction confirmation from the 3M Corporation. The scammer hopes recipients have not sent or received any ACH transactions and will click on the link in the email to get more information.

The link in the email takes recipients to a website in Uganda that distributes malicious code from its server. If recipients click the link, they will likely have malicious code loaded onto their computers.

If you receive an email similar to this, delete it and do not click on any links provided. Please note this is not related to any First Interstate Bank operations.
