New Text Scams - FCU/CU and Debit
May 13, 2013
We’ve been alerted to two text message scams currently circulating:
The first scam text message states, "Your FCU and CU Visa card has been suspended. Please go to your personal link to lift suspension." (FCU refers to Federal Credit Union and CU refers to just Credit Union.) Reports show these texts coming from 858-500-3907, although that number could change quickly.
The second scam text message states something similar to this: "Your debit card has been deactivated. In order to activate follow the supplied link." The scammer used 909-509-5641, although this number may change quickly.
If you receive these or similar text messages, do not click on the links or provide any card/personal information. Your First Interstate cards have not been affected in any way. Please remember we will never ask for your card information by text.
If you have any questions about this or any other suspected email scams, please contact your local First Interstate Bank branch or our Corporate Security office at 406-237-2702.
