A new phone scam is occurring whereby customers are receiving calls with an automated message that states, “This is First Interstate Bank card department and your card has been shut down/suspended; please press 1 to reactivate it.” When you press 1, it asks for your full card number, the expiration date, the security code on the back, and your PIN.
Calls are also occurring that don’t specifically reference First Interstate Bank. Customers have reporting receiving these scam calls from the numbers below, but you may receive a fraudulent call from a different number.
If you receive such a call, do not provide any card information. This call is not from First Interstate Bank, and your accounts here have not been affected in any way. Please remember we will never ask for your card information over the phone.
