Phone Text Scam
January 02, 2013 at 03:56pm
First Interstate Bank has been alerted to some fraudulent text messages being received by customers. The text message claims to be from First Interstate Bank (which is not the case) and alerts customers that their card has been de-activated. The text messages are often received from (307) 257-3462, but the number could change. The text message is similar to this:
Bank account alert
Your card has been deactivated. Please call 307-200-0674
If you receive this text message, be advised that it is not from First Interstate Bank and is most likely a scam. Do not call the number on the text message or reveal your card or account information. First Interstate Bank already has customer information on file and would not request this information in this manner.
If you have any questions about this or any other suspected email scams, please contact your local First Interstate Bank branch or our Corporate Security office at 406-237-2702.
