Can I paste my resume to this website to be considered for all related positions?
In order to comply with federal regulations and to provide equal opportunity to all applicants, you must complete the online application for a specific job we are looking to fill. You will more than likely be required to complete more steps than simply uploading a resume. Successful applicants will need to complete all of the steps for a specific position in order to be considered for employment with our company.
Where do I begin? I have not been to this career website before.
To search for open positions within First Interstate Bank, simply click on the Career Search button. From here, you can search for jobs by category, location, or position using the search options located on the left side of the page. You can see all of our open positions by setting the search options to “All.” You may also conduct an “Advanced Search” which will allow you to search for jobs posted in a given time frame.
If you decide to apply, your first step will be to register as a new user. You do this by completing the registration form. Registering allows us to track your progress through the online application process. You will only have to register one time; the username and password you create as part of this process can be used in the future should you apply for other jobs with us. Please keep track of your username and password as you will need them in order to apply for other positions with us or to track the status of applications you've submitted.
Then, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the steps associated with the position you selected. You must complete all of the steps associated with the position you selected in order to be considered for employment with our company. If you are not able to complete all of the steps in one sitting, you will be able to return to the site to continue the remaining steps.
I have applied to a position before, but now I want to apply for a different position. What do I do?
First, sign back into our career site using the username and password you created when you originally registered and applied for a position. Once you are logged in, you will see your name displayed under the login status section on the left.
If you previously applied, there may be steps you will need to complete again. This is because the qualifications for this position may be different than those of the position(s) you applied for before. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the steps associated with the position you selected. You must complete all of the steps associated with the position you selected in order to be considered for employment with our company. If you are not able to complete all of the steps in one sitting, you will be able to return to the site to continue the remaining steps.
Do I have to register with your company each time I apply for a position?
No. You only need to register with us one time. We store your information so that you do not have to start every process from the beginning should you wish to apply for more jobs at a later time.
If you have previously registered, please log back into the career site using the username and password you created when you applied originally.
If you have forgotten your password, click the “Forgot Password” link in the Login/Register section on the left to retrieve and modify your password.
Can I create a bookmark or a favorite link so I can return to this site and/or continue with my application at a later time?
You can bookmark our site, but you must not be logged in and you must be on the main career site. If you need to return at a later time to complete the online application process, you will need to log back into the site with the username and password you previously created. Once you are logged in, you will see a red “continue” link associated with the job you have yet to finish applying for. This link will be accessible directly from the careers homepage. Click that link to be taken back to the step you left off at.
Am I able to make changes to answers I submitted during the application process?
Once you complete the online application process for a specific position, you will not be able to modify your answers or make changes because your information was immediately submitted to our recruiters; they make decisions about your qualifications based on the information you submitted.
There are some options for you, however. Because the steps you are required to complete may vary by position, some steps can be modified (as long as a recruiter hasn't accessed your data yet). If you submitted a resume, you will be able to modify that resume so long as no recruiter has viewed it yet. Use the “My Resumes” option in the “Careers Section” Menu to access your resume. If the “Locked” column is empty, you can make modifications. If there is a lock icon in that column, you will not be able to make modifications to your resume.
You are able to modify your personal information at any time by clicking on the “My Profile” option from the “Careers Section” Menu.
I lost my internet connection in the midst of applying for a job. Now what?
Once the Internet connection issues have been resolved, re-visit our careers site and log back in using your username and password. When logged in, you will see a red “continue” link associated with the job you have yet to finish applying for. Click that link to be taken back to the step you left off at. If you were in the middle of a specific application process step, you may have to move through pages. The data you previously entered and saved will be there and you will not have to re-enter that information.
I forgot my password and can’t log into my account. What should I do?
If you have forgotten your password, click the “Forgot Password” link in the Login/Register section on the left of the careers site to retrieve and modify your password. Once you modify your password you will be able to gain access back into the careers site
