Business Online Banking ACH files must be received by Thursday, February 14 in order to settle before the upcoming federal holiday (Washington’s Birthday). ACH files received on Friday, February 15 will not settle until Tuesday, February 19.
We are excited to officially welcome Inland Northwest Bank (INB) clients to First Interstate Bank on November 12, 2018. Once the conversion is complete, you will have access to 147 branches across Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming. To prepare for this change, please review the Client Conversion Guide; you will also receive a copy in the mail.
The Client Conversion Guide contains important details about how your accounts will transition from INB, amongst other details about First Interstate and the conversion. You can find additional information about transferring accounts in our Switch Kit.
Below is a list of frequently asked questions. Please complete the first time login setup for First Interstate’s Online Banking platform. Once you have successfully logged in for the first time, please use First Interstate’s Online Banking ()Login Button in the top, right-hand corner of this page. If you are having trouble logging in please call First Interstate’s Client Contact Center at 1-855-342-3400, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. MST (6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST), and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. MST (9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST).
Once you have successfully logged in for the first time, please make sure to re-enroll in Paperless Statements.
If you currently use Cash Management Online at Inland Northwest Bank (INB), you will automatically transition to First Interstate Bank’s Business Online Banking (I-Corp). INB and First Interstate use the same ACH, Business Online Banking, and Wire programs — meaning the functionality to which you are accustomed will not change.
Bill Pay will be unavailable in INB Online Banking starting at 6 a.m. MST on Friday, November 9. Bill Pay will be available through First Interstate Online Banking starting at 8 a.m. MST on Monday, November 12.
Bill pay users with multiple funding accounts will need to verify their default funding account before issuing any new payments. If you need to update your default funding account, please call the Client Contact Center at 1-855-342-3400.Default Funding Account Instructions
INB clients will need to re-enroll in paperless statements through First Interstate Online Banking. Once in First Interstate Online Banking, click on the More button in the Navigation menu. Clients will then be required to review and accept the Online Statement Disclosure and select the “Go Paperless” check box. Please note, Online Statements for the past 18 months will not be available until December.
You may receive two First Interstate Bank Mastercard® Business Debit cards prior to INB’s conversion to First Interstate Bank. Due to a coding error by our card provider, the first business debit card sent to you (insert picture of current FIB business debit card) may not work on certain point of sale systems or for online purchases. To ensure your transactions process accurately, we are sending a second business debit card (insert picture of attached card) that is properly coded and will work for all point of sale and online transactions.
Please destroy the green business debit card you received earlier.
Please begin using this new, gray business debit card beginning November 13.
To activate your new card, please call 1-800-342-2974. The PIN for this First Interstate Bank Mastercard Business Debit Card will be the same PIN that was associated with your INB Business Debit Mastercard.

To continue using Quicken after November 9, you will need to complete an account deactivation and reactivation process. Conversion Instructions detailing how to complete this process can be found below. Please note, there is a chance that transactional data may be duplicated when your new account is set up. Instructions on how to correct any duplicate data is included in the Conversion Instructions.

At the close of business on August 16, 2018, First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. completed its acquisition of Inland Northwest Bancorporation, Inc.—parent company of Inland Northwest Bank. This means that First Interstate BancSystem now owns two banking organizations: First Interstate Bank and Inland Northwest Bank. These two banking organizations will continue to operate as separate entities until they are merged into one bank on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
The merger and data processing conversion is scheduled to begin following the close of business on Friday, November 9, 2018. On Tuesday, November 13, Inland Northwest Bank will officially be First Interstate Bank.
For now, it is business as usual. Regional and local market leadership for Inland Northwest Bank remains in place. You can continue your normal banking activities with the same bank staff you’ve come to know and trust.
You will be unable to use First Interstate branches for your banking needs until the completed merger of our two banking institutions on November 13, 2018. Following the merger of the two banks in November, your accounts will be automatically converted to First Interstate accounts. For more information about account conversion, please reference the Client Conversion Guide.
There will be no immediate changes to your accounts, and no action on your part is necessary at this time. Your Client Conversion Guide provides more information regarding the transition and the benefits of being a First Interstate client, including Wealth Management and a credit card with a unique rewards program that features local merchants. In addition to the personalized service you have come to expect at Inland Northwest Bank, you will have access to 147 First Interstate branches across Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming.
The majority of Inland Northwest Bank account numbers will remain the same. A small number of account numbers have been identified as duplicate account numbers with another First Interstate Bank account. As such, we will need to change the account numbers on those few accounts. If your account is impacted in any way, we will contact you individually. If you do not hear from us about your account number, you can assume it will remain the same.
If we find you have a duplicate account number, you will receive a letter notifying you of the matter and informing you of next steps. Should this occur, there is no need to worry; First Interstate will take care of everything on your behalf.
You may continue to use your Inland Northwest Bank checks until May 31, 2019. Until that time, your checks will process normally. When you re-order checks following the merger in November, you will receive checks with the First Interstate Bank name and routing number. In the limited cases of duplicate account numbers requiring an account number change, First Interstate will re-order checks on your behalf.
Unless you have accounts at both Inland Northwest Bank and First Interstate, your FDIC insurance coverage should remain unchanged. If you do have accounts at both banks, your banker will be happy to visit with you following completion of the merger in November about options for structuring your accounts to maximize FDIC insurance coverage.
In November, at the time of the merger, you will receive a new First Interstate Bank debit card and your previous card will be cancelled.
If you currently have a direct deposit (e.g., payroll, Social Security, government entities, etc.) into your account, or an automatic payment (e.g., insurance or loan payment) out of your account, this will continue. However, on November 12, 2018, the routing number associated with these payments will change to 092901683. First Interstate Bank will send notice of the routing number change to originators. If the originator makes the requested change, you will not need to do anything.
However, if the originator does not make the change, you may need to personally contact them. We recommend you utilize the Switch Kit documents to notify originators of the change to your routing number, especially for payroll and any deposit benefits you receive. If you have payments established using a web-based bill payment program other than INB’s, you will need to go into that program and enter First Interstate Bank’s routing number (092901683) and, if applicable, your new account number, for any payments made after Friday, November 9, 2018. All direct deposits and payments must utilize First Interstate’s routing number (092901683) by May 31, 2019 to ensure uninterrupted processing.
If you have automatic payments taken from your checking account, you will need to update the routing number to 092901683 after November 12, 2018.
The terms and conditions of your loan contract remain as stated. There is no need for you to do anything with your loan. However, if you have questions about your loan, please contact your INB banker.
