Wes Golie, a Retirement Plan Advisor with First Interstate Wealth Management, was recently named to the National Association of Plan Advisors’ (NAPA) “Young Guns” list, which identifies the country’s top financial/retirement advisors under the age of 40. Wes is among 75 honorees receiving this recognition, which he is quick to share with his colleagues.
“This national recognition helps put our efforts on the map,” Wes said. “Clients may not be aware of the high-class, comprehensive fiduciary service we provide—effectively helping businesses and participants be successful planning for retirement.” In collaboration with other Wealth Management professionals, Wes manages around 180 business-sponsored retirement plans from his office in Missoula, Montana.
NAPA was created by and for retirement plan advisors and is part of the American Retirement Association (ARA). The ARA, based in the Washington, D.C. area, is a non-profit professional organization established to educate all types of retirement plan professionals, and to preserve and enhance the employer-based retirement plan system.
Helping clients better understand the retirement planning process is what Wes enjoys most about his job. “Navigating a retirement plan policy can be very complex,” he said. “I love working with clients to simplify the process, making the information understandable, palatable, and relatable.” Sometimes this involves helping with a plan’s fiduciary process, negotiating a fee structure, eliminating underperforming funds, or designing a better retirement plan for the company. “Our structure and service at First Interstate provides a unique experience to clients,” Wes explained.
