Providing our customers with secure online and mobile banking solutions is a priority for First Interstate Bank. That’s why in the near future, I-Bank Personal Online Banking, I-Corp Business Online Banking, and Personal Mobile Banking users will see changes to the existing login process.
Currently during enrollment, users select an image and specify a word or passphrase that appears during the login process to reassure them the online or mobile banking site they are accessing is genuine. Effective August 31st, the security image and passphrase will no longer need to be verified. Instead, like many other financial institutions, we will use two other criteria (in addition to Access ID and Password) to validate customers logging in to online and mobile banking:
- Devices - We check the device customers are using—whether it’s a computer, mobile phone, or tablet. If we don’t recognize the device, we may ask you to answer a Security Challenge question to confirm your identity.
- Location - If access is being requested from an unusual geographic location, we may ask you to answer a Security Challenge question before access is granted.
Verifying Access ID/Password, Device, and Location will simplify the login process, allowing you easier access to your online accounts. For more information, please view our video demos which illustrate the change and the enhanced security offerings still utilized by First Interstate Bank.
