Automated Phone Scam

An automated phone calling scam has surfaced in Wyoming. The scammers select the largest banks in a community and randomly call phone numbers, typically generated from a computer program, hoping to hit customers of the banks. The automated phone call is stating that their "First Interstate Visa card has been compromised. Please enter your 16 digit account number." Further instructions ask for the PIN number as well. Obviously, many customers are called that don't have a card from the bank, but the scammers hope to hit a certain percentage by picking on the larger banks in a community. NEVER give account information, numbers, or PINs over the phone! If you are unsure as to the identity of the caller, always verify it with a call to your local First Interstate branch first.
